About Us

Hello and welcome,

JD's Hawk's Brittanies is dedicated to raising and breeding excellent hunting and trialing dogs as well as family pets.  Our dogs also compete in field trials and all have placements in either NSTRA, AKC, or American Field sanctioned trials.  We are a family owned business that started in 2010.  Our main goal is to breed our Brittanies to be the  best hunting, trial, and family pets.  It is very important for us to have our dogs socialized with other animals and people.  We have three cats that they live with. All of them get along just like brothers and sisters; good times as well as bad times!

All of our Brittanies are trained by us.  We live in northeast Wisconsin so our dogs get plenty of exposure to ruffed grouse and woodcock.  I love to hunt grouse, woodcock, and pheasant.  When I retired, my wife and I bought our first Brittany, Hawkens.  He was so eager to learn and please us that it became a pleasure to train him.  He made such an impact on our lives. That is when we knew we wanted to raise and breed Brittanies.  We then added Falcon, our girl, to our family.  Both of them impressed us so much with their hunting and trialing abilities that we wanted their offspring.  We decided to breed quality Brittanies.  We wanted to share our good fortune with other people so we started JD's Hawk's Brittanies.

We have five females and one male.  We bred Hawkens and Falcon together and kept two female puppies from their first litter . What a wonderful decision!  Both of them are making a name for themselves in hunting and trialing.  We couldn't ask for better family and hunting companions. We kept one little girl from Hawkens and Falcon's last litter. Her name is Kessie (JD's Hawk's Kestrel). She was born June 19, 2015. The latest addition to our family is Keela (JD's Hawk's Golden Aquila). She was born April 13, 2017. She is a bundle of energy and keeps us on our feet!

All of our Brittanies (except the baby, Keela), Hawkens (Mark of the Hawk), Falcon (JD's Hawk's Falcon), Eagle (JD's Hawk's Eagle) and Phoenix (JD's Hawk's Phoenix) and Kessie (JD's Hawk's Kestrel), are registered with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals and their hips are certified Good.  Keela will be certified after she is two years old. Their website is: http://www.offa.org/

Welcome again, and thank you for visiting JD's Hawk's Brittanies.

P.S.  Phoenix has just  secured the TOP spot in the NBHA Dog of the Year standings for the Amateur Shooting Dog (JC@F) category!  She will be awarded her Plaque in Memphis, TN on July 27, 2013.   What a great addition to add to her
other accomplishments!

On October 10 and 11, 2013 Phoenix (she is the daughter of Falcon and Hawkens) won the American Brittany Club Grouse and Woodcock Classic/Championship in American Field.  She is now our Champion!!!

Phoenix and Jim are the Blue Ribbon champions.

On October 9, 2015, our Phoenix placed in the American Brittany Grouse and Woodcock Classic/Championship! She took third place!  We are so proud of her.
